ABOUT QUINTANA ROO
Quintana Roo is a Mexican state located on the northeast of the Yucatán Peninsula. Along this territory are the destinations of Cancun and Riviera Maya, each with unique attractions and all the beauty of the Mexican Caribbean.
Cancun is an island connected to the mainland by two bridges and divided into two main parts: downtown Cancun where most of the local residents live, home to many small hotels, restaurants and shops; and the Hotel Zone, the main tourist area located between the Nichupté lagoon and the Caribbean Sea, where all the luxury hotels, modern shopping malls and vibrant nightlife is. Cancun's popularity as a tourist destination is due to its gorgeous beaches with clear turquoise waters, excellent all-inclusive resorts and the many unique activities to experience.
Riviera Maya stretches along 87 miles of Mexican Caribbean, south of Quintana Roo. Warm weather conditions, endless white sand beaches, and a network of underground rivers, lagoons, cenotes and the Mayan jungle, provide the ideal ambiance for unforgettable moments. Riviera Maya includes magical and fascinating places like Puerto Aventuras, Akumal, Tulum, which is the only ancient Mayan city bordering the sea, and Playa del Carmen the most famous place in Riviera Maya, a fascinating sophisticated city with visitors from all over the world that come to enjoy charming days and nights.
In Quintana Roo every city is an impressive destination!
